Myth tfl CO-OP Maps. Help

Post by nojer »

Hi im new to this.
CI have downloaded some myth tfl co-op maps and have been trying to play them with my friend but his army doesnt seem to appear on the map???
It looks like he is part of my team but has no units of his own! Call me a noob if u widh... im just a little confused.
Can someone please tell me... Can two human players have an army of ther own and battle the AI example on the Flight from covenant 2 map or a single player map?

Many thanks

Sure, but only one player has all of the units at the beginning. You can detach some of them to another player by clicking "\" button on your keyboard. Well, that's how it works for Myth 2 and I think it is the same for TFL

I think in TFL detaching units is actually the pipe | which is shift \ on a US keyboard.

Backslash here...TFL 1.5 anyway...

As for Fallen Levels it should be whatever it is for m2 which is backslash by default.

Or am I missing something?

I'm probablyl wrong. I just seem to remember it changed from tfl to myth II. But that was in like 1.0 to 1.0. They could have changed it to match myth II in one of the patches, or I could just be up in the night.

It's always been backslash to detach for TFL.

On the README that comes with the 1.0 CD, the only difference to the manual listed is that the +/- keys for unit trading have been deprecated in favour of the, and I quote, "snazzy interface".

Then you're either pulling our legs, OR there is something corrupted with your copy of 1.5, OR you have a keyboard layout that enables the # key as a key that's unshifted. Possibly... French Canadian? UK/Irish?

I'd advise clicking on the hash symbol in prefs and use a character more easily accessed if you're having trouble with it.

Oro: Myth-on-Windows's handling of keys became messed up at some stage; it only works properly with the US layout. If you use a different layout, it can still act as if you're set to the US layout. Myrd (I think it was) didn't want to try to fix it as nobody knew when the bug was introduced and nobody had been complaining to Magma about it.

Nojer: you could buy a cheap 2nd hand US layout keyboard. They are better to use as they don't have the undersized shift key.

Or everyone could just stop being cheap bastards and buy a legal copy of the game - it's so cheap there's really no excuse for stealing it.

[Not that expense is justification for stealing, but expense can explain why someone is able to buy something]
Lots of Myth stuff at http://mythgraveyard.org.
Sometimes I put hard to find stuff in my my Udogs folder.

The keys problem he has been having is nothign to do with wherever the game is from, and the 1.5 executable he is using is from Projectmagma. I suggested he get a US layout keyboard as they're less unpleasant to use than the UK layout with its undersized sihft key.

Haha cheap bastards lol. I would buy it but its like gold dust here in the UK and did try and buy it on ebay but at the time no1 seem to have been selling it.

Did the same for myth 2.

I quite like my keyboard, with its undersized SHIFT key thanks lol. Its what im used to but if i ever get so fed up with the UK layout i dont think ide use an american one.

My suggestion to purchase the game was not meant as a solution to the keyboard issue, it was a prod to get legal and was prompted by the comment that the version of myth he has installed he got from a torrent feed/site.
