Trouble loading multiplayer games Myth TFL

Post by Boagrious »

Hey... I'm new in these matters, I just bought myself the game and downloaded the Project Magma 1.5 Update, everything installed apparently normally, but when I launched the game, I saw a few changes... Like the screen, now had a smaller size... Anyhow, I clicked on the Multiplayer button to play on marius net, it loaded normally, but when I clicked in "Start Game" to begin after choosing the map and everything, the screen just turned black and didn't loaded at all, just freezing completely... Then I had to exit the game by other means, tried again this time with a solo mission on "New Game" and happened the same thing... Any help??

Are you sure it was Myth TFL and not Myth II Soulblighter? Most people play Myth 2 these days. There is even a Myth 2 feature that lets you play in TFL mode, so units act like they would in TFL.

Er....Im pretty certain he'd be aware of which he just installed.

Try this:

Go into Preferences in the main menu, and try a different rendering method. Let us know if it works.

Yea, DA, one would think so, but I've had new or returning people ask me things that seemed easy to figure out without asking, only to find out they made a mistake and meant something else. I just wanted to make sure we were on the same page before trying further help.

Well yes, I am 100% certain... You see, some time ago I played a demo version of the Fallen Lords, I liked so much that I spent several months trying to get one copy of the full game, it wasn't easy but at the end I could, in a bazar... Also I downloaded the Myth II demo 1.5 from Project Magma, hope to find the complete game easily...

Anyhow, thnaks for the suggestion, I will do what you say just as I finish looking for a patch for another Myth game (Myth III), apparently, in the website The Tain, the file has been removed...
Thanks too for your quick response...

Well! You'll find that the Tain is actually run by Project Magma! Sadly, there was a server crash a few months back and a number of the files on the tain were lost (and are still being repopulated). I believe www.mariusnet.com has a copy in the Plugin Center section.

As pyro mentioned, most people play Myth II online these days, so if you have a love for multi, check out Myth II.

Indeed!! In mariusnet.com it is the patch... I will downloaded it later, and, I changed the OpenGL to Software in the rendering, and everything went normally... Thanks again...
