So i have been playing Myth II off and on for however many years its been around. I have modified it hundreds of different times and hundreds of different ways.
Yesterday, I reinstalled it and updated it. Then began my attempts at modifying it. I was quickly met with the most bizarre problem I have ever seen:
while in fear, in the collection reference, I can open any entry and I can see every collection, built-in or third party. When I open the monsters file, thats where the fun starts. In monsters, I see just a few of the collections. Normally, I imagine that while in the Monster tags i'd see things like the Internal User Interface collections if I opened up the collections menu. No, I see a handful of built-in collections and a few third-party. I dont even see all of the built-in collections. What really stumps me is that I deleted that entire myth folder and reinstalled it and updated it all over again. My problem reappeared.
further info:
Mac OS X 10.5
Powerbook G4 1.67 GHz
I would love some input on this, because like a lot of the old-timers, I've been around and think I know my way around myth's inner workings. So please, if anyone knows of this problem, i would love a fix or something.

collections folder problem PLEASE HELP!!!!
Collections have certain settings that allow them to show up in monster tags and other tags as well. If you open a collection that does not appear on a monster tag with either Amber or Tahoe, and look at its collection info. If it has the "Monsters" box checked, then the collection will appear in the list for monster tags. If a collection was not used for the actual unit, odds are the maker of the collection did not check the "Monsters" box.
If you're on a PC it gets a little weirder...
I found out years ago that adding/copying/adjusting a collection doesn't always work (i.e. doesn't show up in Fear) until you open it with Tahoe and do the following:
* Open the Collection
* Do "Collection -> Info" to bring up the popup window
* Note the checkboxes which are already set (i.e. use for Projectiles, use for Mons, etc.) - write them down!
* Uncheck all the boxes and press OK
* Save the collection using "File -> Save"
This saves the collection with no checkboxes checked. Now we want to save it with the proper checkboxes checked.
* Now do the "Collection -> Info" again
* Check the boxes you want checked (either from the ones you wrote down or the ones you want to set for real)
* Click OK
* Save the collection using "File -> Save"
For some reason - on a PC at least - you have to do this double-save (saving once with everything unchecked and then saving again with the proper checkboxes checked) before Fear will "recognize" the collection adjustments you've made.
Works every time for me when a collection I've adjusted/copied/whatever doesn't appear in the appropriate dropdown within Fear. I also recall this working for someone else who had the same problem a couple years back.

I had really funky things start happening in Fear a while back in OS X. I would open collections to edit things and the names that popped up weren't right for the collection - same thing when trying to edit MONS tags (I think). Ended up re downloading and reinstalling Myth II and the latest update and recopying Fear and Loathing and then things went back to normal.
That being the case, as I noted before, I'm running OS X 10.5
Far as I can tell, the only two collection editors are either for Mac Classic or PC. Does it just come down to I'll need to go and find my old OS 9 install disk and set up amber or is there some other advise?
Also, I downloaded these collections as unit locals from the Myth Bag of Tags website, which I have never done before. Has anyone else complained of having a similar experience?
