Post by GodzFire »

Okay I want to get a list of Myth 3 Units that have been successfully converted to Myth 2. Please give any information you know.

Who cares? M3 units suck in M2. Every 'port' that's happened so far has been a re-engineer of the original model.... The m3 models are extremely low poly-gon models, and consequently when they arent seen as "3D", they look shitty in sprite form... that is, without modifiying the original models and creating some smoothing and softening effects. It's alot of work to 'port'.... you'd be better off making a list of "New Units To Make For M2".

Any modeler will tell you this exact same information. If you want to learn how to model, you can go find out the information yourself... No point pursuing this one anymore IMHO.

That's what's nice about the Myth community - whenever someone asks a question seeking to learn something, no matter how obscure or frequently asked, there's always someone who will take time out of their busy schedule to encourage and motivate him.

Luckily, between the two of you we have enough snarky replies to make the world go 'round. Quit it.

I don't think GodzFire was saying more should be ported. He just asked which ones have been. There haven't been any pure ports, as Graydon has stated. People have just used the original model and modified it to a certain degree and made animations from scratch. As for what units have been ported. I think those 2 are the only known ones... unless someone out there started to port some. I do know that Zeph used the Immortal model to make zombies for Quarantine. There might be able unit made based on a M3 model but I forget.

That a complete list right now Im affraid :( But we have to ask Zeph if we wanna be 100% sure :D

IMO Iron Trow is a rly great sweet port. I didnt see Hearthsman unit in action yet

Porting more M3 to M2 would be awesome - with em - lets call it "The Wolf Age Levels" could happen.

there's the dwarven hammer warrior and dwarven axe warrior!

Hammer can be seen in Seventh Dwarf on the tain and axe was never really finished, Souly has latest version of it though and if you search carefully you could find it somewhere on hotline :P

I'm just curious as to what it would take, or the materials needed to extract what's needed from M3. I seem to remember a program called 3DFXOptimizer.
