New software. Or at least a mega upgrade in versioning.

You should have logged on this morning before everything was functioning completely normally. I logged on and did the 'View New Messages' thing and it gave me a list that filled my screen and told me I had 1000 new messages since the last time I was here.

I was used the the old layout and color scheme, but can't really say it was _better_ than this one.

I liked the old style more to. Is there an preferences panel that can change it or something like that?

I didn't say I LIKED the old style more, what I said is that I was USED to the old style.

There is a 'User Control Panel' up under The Tain logo & search blocks, but it doesn't appear that there is currently an option to change your forum 'theme'.

They were changed so you were discouraged from sticking around.

It came with the upgrade, can't be helped. But people can surely make new themes and give them to Magma so they can implement them.

Is this from upgrading to phpBB3?

I've held off upgarding the OoH forums because I wasn't sure how difficult it was to upgrade the CSS/styles -- the rest was relatively easy.

I found the previous style much easier to read -- now I'm really curious how hard it is to port/update the CSS/styles.

Yes this is a result to the upgrade to PHPBB3. v3 nolonger uses tables but only css for the layout. Porting the theme would take some time but could be done. Anyone with the spare time and love of CSS feel free to make the theme. Some info on doing so is here:

I don't mind the new layout, though I think the post-info could do with being switched back to the left and made narrower again since we've got a fixed-width.

Otherwise we just need the colours updated I think to fit the rest of the tain-layout.

Yeah, last night it was taking 60 seconds or more to load every page... had to give up.

It was due to some issues the update had with the Tain stuff.

The three big complaints besides the obvious non-Myth look are:

1) The forum width is MUCH smaller than before, I'd say only at 50%. This needs to be altered to 100%, or to fit the available browser width

2) The scroll arrow that comes into play during a large wide post. See this: http://tain.totalcodex.net/forum/viewto ... f=3&t=4371.

3) The Save button before the Preview and Submit buttons has already caused me to save pages already. The button should be moved to the right of Submit, or removed entirely like the previous board did.

I say bring back the original magma color theme!
