Help with Myth II version 1.0 upgrade

I would like to upgrade my original Myth II Soulbighter CD which is 1.0. This was one of the best games ever. Can anyone help me figure out what updates I need to do and in what order? I assume I can't just use the 1.7 update on my 1.0 correct? I am on a PC. Thanks for any help here and I look forward to playing again. I still have my original serial # as well. Thanks

Yes, you can use the 1.7 update on your v1.0. The Windows updater will have 2 options for the update. One is 1.7 Modern (It won't say it's modern) and 1.7 Classic. Modern is for Windows 2000/XP/Vista and higher. Classic is for Windows 95/98 or if you have issues with Modern. Classic doesn't have certain features Modern does like Windowed Mode.

I don't think I have a serial number. What are they supposed to do?

The serial numbers were for Bungie.net play.

I still have mine too, and I think I actually have a card with extra around here somewhere.
