That's outstanding, Zeph. Awesome work. If it's really alright, I'd love to use it on a future map, release estimate early Summer.

I gots some suggestions (for either an update or a bug fix):

1. He can't hurt Stygians. Maybe you've got his attack set as kinnetic (arrows).

2. He doesn't stone/fall apart when he dies. Now I know stoning would be hard (because when he would stone, the armour would turn grey), but I think the falling apart would... well, it would be nice. It would make sense. Either that, or make the impact of his whole body hurt units nearby.

Other than that, awesome unit Zeph. :)

I've messed with the unit and it does hurt units nearby when it dies... I used a mahir to kill that Iron Trow and then it died... poof went the mahir. lol

That would require all new animations, projectiles, proj groups, etc, etc. Personally I think his death sequence works just fine. Zeph did above and beyond.

Zeph, Avatara has edited your unit a bit:
"Avtara" wrote:Iron Trow Warrior v1.1

This plugin replaces all your dwarfs with Iron Trow Warriors. It was made mainly
for testing purposes. All credits concerning unit creation are in the file "Trow Iron Lunch.txt".
Plugin file and tweaks made by "Avatara =IX=".

You are free to use this file as you see fit.

- Changes from last version:
-> Iron Trow Warrior can now hurt Stygian Knights (damage type was changed to
explosive from slashing metal).
-> Unist cost reduced to 32 from 64 in multyplayer games.
-> Some damage type modifiers were changed. Arrows now do very low damage to the
Iron Trow and he is somewhat vunerable to lightning.

I hope you have fun using this plugin.

Download = Trow Iron Warrior v1.1

Explovisive dmg hmmm... now SB can own army of TIWs ;)

In Fear,

* Select "Melee Attack" in the trow iron bash projectile
* Duplicate the trow iron bash projectile, to something like trow iron bash CTRL C
* Edit the Flags in the new projectile and deselect Centered On Target
* Duplicate the trow iron bash attack in the trow iron monster and select trow iron bash CTRL C as the Projectile for the new attack
* Deselect Is Primary Attack for the duplicate attack

A 'how to' reply to a post from Tue Apr 11, 2006 11:19 am?

3 years, 7 months and 13 days... Is that a new record?

Was this the same unit used by The Great Journey II? I found the Trow Iron Warrior in that to be very overpowered as pretty much nothing can stop it besides a huge melee mob, but the Iron Warrior will easily kill five or six beserks before it dies, and probably more when it does die due to the damage from its death. In spite of the hints for that map too, the dwarves do almost no damage :P

If it is the same unit though, I'd strongly recommend toning it down for use in multiplayer, as all it has to do is avoid unfavourable melee engagements and it will easily wrack up every point you spent on it in kills.

It does look great though, and it's otherwise a brilliant unit, it just plays a bit horribly :)
