Story Cut Scenes in Multiplayer

Hey Guys! I'm amazed to see that the community for this game is still active after so many years. I played Myth 2 for a couple years back when it first came out, and really loved it. Unfortunately as newer and flashier titles emerged, most of my regular gaming buddies moved on to other titles. I've got a crew who's going to give it a shot with me here in the next week or so, and I want to run them through the Story mode before delving into competitive matches. Back in the day I know it wasn't possible to view the cut scenes between missions. This was a bit of a bummer, but not a big deal because most everyone had gone through the story on their own. This new group I plan on playing with has never seen any of the story bits yet, and so I'm hoping someone out there knows of a mod which interjects these between the missions.

Any help would be much appreciated!

No such 'mod' exists, however with the release of Myth 2 1.7, upgraded 'quicktime' movies were made to be played back on the modern age systems (Vista, 7, osX etc).

In conjunction with quicktime player, and the windowed 'postgame' screen, players could easily tab over to their 'cutscenes' directory and open the appropriate .mov file, watch it, then tab back to myth.

As Gray said there is no mod. Gholsbane made a nice site for all the journals though. If you want you can check out http://www.mythjournals.com/sb/ It includes all the text, images, audio and video. So if you just pause for a minute during pregame and have everyone listen to the stuff from that site you should be golden.

Excellent, thanks guys! We're going to be playing in the same room, so this will work perfectly. I was thinking I'd have to go through the stages ahead of time and FRAPS the journal entries one by one. This saves me a tonne of work

I think there is a plugin that lets you hear the level intros during the game, if that's what you're looking for.

Yes, there is, it's on the tain. I thought Tireces made it, and it was called something like myth II: narrated. I'll try to find it for you.

So, yup - with this plugin you will hear pre-game narrator while playing coop.

Or you could just have one of them run the map in single player for all to listen and view. Since none of the other options will have it exact like this option.
