Re: Can't View Plugins
I deleted classic and downloaede Modern and put in the Myth II file. I then clicked on the Modern file. I can now hear it but no picture on the screen. Guess I am getting closer. Here you go.

Re: Can't View Plugins
As for getting plugins working, hold Shift as you click New Game or hold Shift as you click the OK button after selecting which plugins to activate. This will show the levels that you haven't played or reached yet. Once you have played a map at least once, they will appear on the list without the need to use Shift.
In the log you will notice it says "Warning: Unable to find cutscene 'prologue'." This isn't important, but if you want to view cutscenes just copy the "cutscenes" folder into your Myth II folder.
As for the issue that prevents you from using the modern build, I think the devs have a fix for it for the next build. Meanwhile, use classic build so you can continue to play.

Re: Can't View Plugins
I'm glad the update exercise is behind me, thanks for everyone's help. Now, as far as the plugins. I am having trouble. I am using using only those which were included on the original disc, so I would think that they should have worked just fine with the original dics.
I am holding shift when I click on "New Game". I am clicking "Plugins" and I can see them listed as inactive. I am choosing a few and moving to the active column. When I return to the main selection screen I see the original Myth II levels on the left and my active plugins on the right. The only thing that has worked is the WWII Units so that I can use WWII troops on the MYth II levels. Very cool. I also got "Assassin" to show on the right with the MythII levels and I can play the game just like any Myth II level. Other than that no luck. If there are several plugins showing on the lefthand plugins column how do I single one out to play. There is no way to choose them. It is always jusy playing the MythII level on the left column.

Re: Can't View Plugins
I geuss (not sure) you're absolutely right here. But allmost all plugins have been updated, so it might be worth trying to find the newest versions of those plugins at http://tain.totalcodex.net/mythiiEmerson wrote:I am using using only those which were included on the original disc, so I would think that they should have worked just fine with the original dics.
Re: Can't View Plugins
I told you to hold Shift when you are pressing the OK button after activating plugins. Keep in mind some plugins are for multiplayer and not single player. Other plugins require more than one for it to work.
Re: Can't View Plugins
Aye, as Pyro says, for 1.7.1, holding Shift comes into play when you're hitting OK after activating plugins in the plugin's list. The "Filter" is just there as a search function, for users that have 10s or 100s of plugins in their folders. Long lists can take a while to pan through and find what you want, so using the Filter can narrow the list down using keywords.
I will note that any plugin in the plugin's list that shows up In Italics are just 'tagset' plugins, meaning there ARENT any maps to activate, they simply interchange tags in relation to gameplay and units... in the ww2 case, it allows you to play ww2 units on OTHER custom ww2 plugins, OR to play ww2 units on Myth 2 maps (and some other 3rd party 'reg' myth plugins).
Any plugin that shows up in normal text contains a map to play, but also as Pyro mentioned, some of those plugins are Multiplayer meshes only, and therefore wont show up at all in the New Game list, even after the plugin is activate and shift has been held. To play these maps you have to log on to Marius.net and host a game, or fire up a TCP/IP game and host a multiplayer map on your LAN. Activating multiplayer maps using the Plugins window, does NOT require you to hold Shift.
Hope this generalized info is helpful

Re: Can't View Plugins
Of the plugins on the original disc the ones that worked fine are "Assassin" and "Wild West v2". I activivated them and they immediately showed on the left main selection menu. No luck with any of the others. Realizing that some may just change tags, i.e. the WWII ones worked fine. I tried to download some plugins from some other sites. Only one worked fine "1861 Deer Creek Bridge Solo". Well I have my WWII and Civil War games now so I guess I shouldn't complain. I very much appreciate the help. Maybe I can get some other other plugins working later. Thanks again for everyone's time. It was great getting such immediate feedback. Not like alot of other forums.
Re: Can't View Plugins
When you activate the plugin, hold shift when you click OK. This will force all the singleplayer maps from that plugin to show in the list.
You should be able to get a lot more (i.e. all) solo/coop/scenario plugins from The Tain to work in this way.

Re: Can't View Plugins
They all work. Like I said, there are a few things you might not be doing.
- Holding Shift when pressing OK after activating some plugins.
- Activating all the required plugins. Some require specific plugins to work with others.
- Maybe you are activating a multiplayer only plugin.
- As stated by gray, you might have activated a tagset that only changes units.
Re: Can't View Plugins
I have consistently been holding down shift when I click OK after activating. That being said, I do not know which might require other plugins or are multiplayer. If you have a specific one that you would like me to try I would be happy to. Also, are there some other ones that change only tagsets so that I could change the troops, i.e. like the WWII one. I love the WWII troops and tanks in "Redemption".
Re: Can't View Plugins
You could search the Tain. There are various categories to choose from. Look at conversions and tagsets. Keep in mind, not all of them will change all units or even change units in the default maps.
To test if you have a plugin that is for multiplayer, click on Multiplayer Game. Go to "Other" and then click OK. Select "Host a game" and click Create. Go to Options and then go to the Plugins button. Activate the plugins just like you would have in single player. Uncheck the "Use Single Player Levels" box so the multiplayer maps are shown. And if you want single player maps to show up, you might need to hold Shift when you check the "Use Single Player Levels" box. This way you can see if a plugin is multiplayer only, single player only, or for both.

Re: Can't View Plugins
Are you by chance running a laptop with a intel integrated graphics chip? I recently added some code to fix this problem on a similar machine, so it may be fixed for you for 1.7.1 final.Emerson wrote: 2010-02-14 14:59:51

Re: Can't View Plugins
I don't have a laptop. I've been doing alot of experimenting. Frankly, some work and some don't. The WWII and Civil War tagsets work, the Wild West doesn't. Gettysburg plugin works with the CW tagset, but I can't get any of the WWII solo plugins to work, alone or with the WWII tagset. Other solo plugins that have worked fine are 1861, CWR- Honor Redeemed, Gladiators, and Wild West. I am just going to play these for awhile and attempt to expand to others later. You have all been alot of help. Now I just have to figure out to get the tank cannons to fire in the WWII tagset. I just get machine gun fire. Part of the fun. Thanks.
Re: Can't View Plugins
i don't know about the original Wild West tagset, but you can download a more recent version called "Wild West Anywhere" from the downloads section of http://orderofhpak.com it vastly expands the # of maps you can use the WW units on.
