I really dont have the time to start learning to script myself AT ALL. I allready do tons of jobs on our project and in real life so....
Also there are many with the scripting skills needed allready in the community.
Should I have learned FEAR myself? Or should I have started working with Ooga who allready had YEARS of great fear work under his belt?

I also really enjoy working with other artists/game developers and teams of skilled people. I love teamwork. i could live in a cave and force myself to learn evreything of all aspects in myth campain creation, but that wouldnt be any fun. Its allways good to get other skilled people in thier respective fields to help out with a artistic vision.

I _could_ learn how to write music and play instruments myself, and then write the musical score myself. Problem is to get anything decent you have to study music for a while to be able to tackle such and undertaking. Wouldnt Myself, our teams project and all the myth fans out there be better off with me finding a talented musician who can create a musical score and themes that match what we are trying to do?

Lots of people have told we they love the music we have so far, and sometimes they bug me to release the newst tracks that we have. ~8^)

Frankly your musical score is absolutely nothing without a scripted campaign.

I seriously think you should rearrange your focus of priority. No script = No campaign.

Do it.

(and you're right, its often easier to get someone else to do the work for you. We know that already. Don't have to keep preaching it lol)

The point is this - you start from zero, and the first things you make are not going to be masterpieces. The time and effort it takes to really get good at something is not trivial.

It would be like asking me to make all those unit collections without knowing amber or oak first, and learning it as i go - it would inevitably lead to a sub-par collection and that's counter-productive. I used all my knowledge and skill in both photoshop and myth collection editors to make the units in haste, and with precision. Keeping true to the locations of keypoints, selection box sizes, origin points(in relation to the bitmaps), and being able to make absolutely sure it works the same way. I would not ask an earlier me to do the same amount of work and expect comparable results. It would make more sense to ask one of the then-amber gurus for their help.

It's a plugin for Myth 2.

They think/plan to sell their plugin for Myth 2 as a 'new game' to some company, but the realities of this getting off the ground seem, at this point, slim. A plugin for myth 2 for certain though.

It looks like it's a phased release.

Phase 1 : Unit tagset with some retouched FFA maps (high resolution Myff units! w00t!)

Phase 2 : "Brand New" FFA maps (on hold? pending Loathing expert to put things together?)

Phase 3 : Ambitious very-large Solo/Coop campaign. (On hold pending completion of solo
maps and scripting volunteers to take over the scripting of the campaign)

Phase 4 : A professional gaming company releases "Myth 4: The Wind Age" (on hold pending completion
of phases 2 and 3 and convincing Take2 to either invest in rewriting Myth 2/3 or convincing Take 2 to
sell the rights to some other game company, and finding a game company willing to make the game
and buy the rights from Take2)
