Post by tirecestheimmortal »

Maybe you need a newer zip extracting program. Are you sure you downloaded the zip files? I think Baak has 7z versions which require a different program to extract.

yeah theyre normal .zip files. some of them can be unzipped, like CoD Banks of the ire and all the bushido multiplayer maps open but the solo doesnt and some other maps just dont unzip. when i double click them it just shows all the folders already in the folder that the file was put in.

Strange, I just tried Homeland, and it extracted fine. What OS are you on and what program are you using?

Looks like those are errors in the original zip files I mirrored. They appear to be recordings folders cross-linked to the original local folder which causes the hiccup.

I've unzipped and rezipped them using the older zip program I use with Myth plugins to ensure compatibility with older Mac systems. I retested them and they now appear fine. I did this for Homeland I, II, and the CoD 500 Poisons zip file. I could not find the Bushido one that caused a problem for you. Could you give me the precise zip file name and/or page you downloaded it from?

Pyro: I'm pretty sure with the Creation Mirror I only built a 7z (7-zip) file for The Seventh God, since it's so big. I show any 7z files as such to avoid confusion and to allow for a slightly faster download for PC users (not that it matters that much any more as connection speeds increase).

Heh -- glad to see the Creation Mirror is working with The Tain. No one asked me if it was ok to link them this way after an initial discussion we had some time ago, but it should be ok since the files are still only hosted on the OoH site (as requested by Clem). Personally I like the fact that these excellent plugins are being played and appreciated, and that the time/energy I put into building the mirror allows for it.

I figured there shouldn't be any issues, since they're just links - and it lets people find these plugins more efficiently.

No, that's not an issue here -- the Creation zips posted on the OoH Mirror are the original zips as they appeared on the Creation sites and/or The Mill, etc.

Three of the four mentioned here that were causing problems (I can't find a Bushido zip with a problem) had problems with the recordings subfolders in the zip file -- they were zipped oddly -- so I rezipped them using Info-Zip, which definitely uses Deflate as the default. :)
