Unit Selection Box

Post by ThreeTigerSilverWind »

Would anyone know how to change the height of the unit selection boxes? For some units the top line goes through the unit's head. Not a biggie, but thought I'd ask around.

Thanks.

You would need to alter the collection tag to do that. Using either Amber (a classic Mac program) or Oak (which isn't out to the public yet) to do it. Once altered, you would need to make a plugin and anyone you play with would need it too.

Anyway, I think the point is that its not an easy setting you can just change. It relates to how the units were made originally, so (as pyro described) it would take some hefty tinkering (but its not impossible).

Also the selection box is the area that projectiles can collide with & cause damage to the unit. Bigger box = quicker death by arrows ;)

Another thing to mention is that due to the sprite based nature of myth units, and the consistent 2D nature of selection boxes, it's nearly impossible to get _all_ parts of the unit on _all_ angles into the selection box wihtout making the hitbox too big as Iron's described. There's always a compromise, and in this case its the selection box going through the heads of units on certain angles.
