1.7.1 problem

Hey when I try to open 1.7.1 it says I'm missing foundation files. How do I fix this?

Reinstall Myth 2 from your CD using the 1.7.1 installer. It will pull what you need from your disc.

Could have a go at Googling "Myth 2 Foundation Tags"... I know there's a few warez sites out there floating the stuff around, not sure offhand where exactly to point though.

You Clank as in Clank Tank of TC? If you are, you taught me most of the basic mechanics of TFL gameplay WAAAAAAYYYYY back in the day

Well you need to find someone who has the disc or the install.

Also, post the contents of your 'myth_log.txt' file so we can see what's going on. It's located in your M2 folder.

Foundation files are:

The tags:
international large install
international small install
large install
medium install
small install

And I believe (not 100% sure) the plugins:
Patch 1.2
Patch 1.3
Patch 1.4
Patch 1.4 Interface
Patch 1.5
Patch 1.5 Unity
Patch 1.7 Templates (obviously this won't be there until you install 1.7 or newer)

If you had a working installation of Myth 2, then you might have installed the 1.7.1 update in the wrong folder. Check to see if you see any files inside the "tags" folder inside your Myth II folder.

Also, what godzfire said only is for mac users. Where the 1.7.1 update comes with an installer that will take the files from the CD and install them. Windows users can install using the CD and then update.

My point is, if you have one working... you still have the files on your computer. Find out where your 1.6 is located. That is where you should install 1.7.1.

In case he doesn't make a final reply, I was on M.Net and saw Clank on there, so he got it up and running. He said 'myth files were lurking in a weird place'.

Ok myth is working but now I can't join any games (they're all red). Any ideas?

Please post the contents of your Myth_log.txt.

Warning: don't run any exectuables from warez downloads of Myth II. Someone reported a false download is about which pretends to be Myth II but wipes your hard drive.

Try clicking on a red game as if to join. Chances are you'll get a message saying what plugins are missing. You should also look at your plugins directory and make sure there's no plugins starting with Playmyth or PMI present.

C'mon iron I'm not a r'tard here. Paris even sent me his tags files because we figured mine were corrupted, I just logged on and all games are still red (game data doesn't match error message or something).
