By gameplay? now that's a different matter. Actually Medieval 2 Total war has a lot of disappointing limit and the game is hardcoded by default so it's not gonna be easy to make something decent, which can live up to the GREAT MYTH GAMEPLAY!!

You should find a coder, and make a myth clone.

I hear ya, but then that's the interesting thing with a TW mod - to try and achieve a Myth atmosphere in what is really quite a different game.
Okay I got the models but now I'm too dumb to do anything with 'em

:D hehe..it happens...even worse..the dwarves sometimes just stuck and they don't do anything...:( (but they have now a little dagger and they can actually go in melee) of course they'r kinda suck at it. :D

wow, everytime i see a new preview or animation i am even more impressed.

if this gets done and your mod runs on a mac it might be the first game (TWC) i've bought in ages.

Hey Briariuss--

Are you implementing some sort of "morale" feature in your Myth mod? It looks like the thrall begin running away at the end of the Thrall molotov rampage video. I would prefer that they continue to march toward me like the mindless beings they so that I could slaughter every last one of them! :mrgreen: Just seemed a bit unMyth-like for them to run away at the end.

Anyway, the video looks great! Thanks for your continued work on this mod.

No they didn't run away. Their morale is definetely locked. I think the Ai was trying to look for another path.
I locked the morale of :

Thralls - cause they're mindless zombies
Fetch- cause they're cocky bastards...
Trow -cause they're basically tanks, and superior race beyond human world

I didn' t lock the morale of

Ghols- cause ...you know
Soulles- cause I kinda had a feeling, when I was playing Myth they were basically cowards
Myrmidon -cause in my head they still have minds and thoughts, so they can make a logical decision when they're in trouble.

Any opposite thought about that? :?:

WOW!!! :) I took some break from Myth and... just WOW!!!
All units look awesome and feel so Myth-right - they just like original Bungie concept art given 3D life! You should definitly think about porting some (or even better - ALL :) ) Myth II ( and Myth III ) units models after you finish TFL total war mod. I've played Rome: total war back when it came out (and looks like now Ill have to buy Medieval 2 :D ) and it was a very good game. IMHO total war engine will work well for Myth.
...and watching huuuge armies of Light and Dark decimating each other in epic battles will be for sure a great fun for every true Myth fan - no doubts about it :)

bah, now ill have to read whole this topic from the beginning... :)

about units morale in latest post:
thrall, fetches, trow, soulless sound good
IMHO ghols could be cowards and panic easilly, Myrmidons ( as once brave and proud warriors ) shouldnt retreat unless heavily outnumbered.
other units hmmm forrest giants - same as Trow ( maybe they could be affraid of fire ;) will there be fire in this mod? ) berserks definitly shouldnt never-ever reatreat from battlefield : )

To sum up, mod look awesome, cant wait to try it - KEEP UP GREAT WORK :D

Any chances for a public beta before final release?

I don't think I'd call Soulless cowards. They're undead just like the Thrall, meaning they are incapable of fear. Sure, they'll turn and retreat if other units get too close to them, but so do other missile units—archers, dwarves, fetch, etc.
