Myth II 1.7.2 Public Beta 2
The second official public beta of Myth II 1.7.2 is now available:

Everyone is encouraged to install it and help test the next version of Myth II. It is compatible with previous versions, so you don't have to worry about any red games.
The goal is to find any bugs, so that we can fix them before the final version.

HOLY CRAP this is super fast. Its so hard for me to type in marius lobby, hosts, and in games. now i can spam at a faster rate since the characters show up much more quickly. camera seems smoother, are there any changes with units' animations? seemed like the units had more fluid movement in them, or maybe i'm just trying to find something that really stands out to me. loading prefs page and everything has been really fast thus far.

ok this ticked me off about the other 1.7.2 beta plug. when i went BACK to the 1.7.1, everything was reset and i had all default options. only willow creek showed in the new game screen, and yeah. lame.

Unit animations were not messed with. If they had they would require a plugin. As for the prefs resetting, that can't be helped. Since 1.7.2 has certain differences that 1.7.1 didn't and therefore won't recognize.

Before a game starts, my entire desktop flashes on the screen before the load game screen comes up. never did that before, even when i am in windowed mode in the game lobby, but play the game full screen.

That may not be entirely avoidable, but what renderer are you using? opengl yeah. my direct 3d was getting too slow to play on. i dont get any better fps with opengl but it seems to work better.

Direct 3D is ANCIENT. It should never be used unless there is a problem that prevents you from using OpenGL or DirectX.

ok well everytime it goes from full screen back to windows, my desktop or other programs running get graphics flaws like covered up and stuff.

Ignore the part where godzfire says it should never be used. OpenGL and the new DirectX option for Windows Vista/7 are the more modern and updated rendering options. Of course if you have issues with those than using Direct3D, Software, or some other rendering option is better than not playing at all.GodzFire wrote:Direct 3D is ANCIENT. As for the graphical flaws, just right click on the area like the folder you might be seeing and hit Refresh.
EDIT:
In an effort to avoid extra useless posts I decided to edit this one to reply to godzfire.
There is a difference between telling someone that something "should never be used" and telling them they are better off using something more up to date. Never implies something heavily flawed that could cause issues when it is simply not the case.

ok im having a problem with OOS and myth experts. I save the game, and come back, and it says OOS. this messed me over on landing at white falls- i had a perfect save point and it got erased somehow and so i thought i was about to win but it didnt because it didnt save me killing the other cannon crew. buncha BS.

You're using saves and you're calling yourself an "Expert"? C'mon man, you know the only way it's legit is if it's online.
Upload the save game in an attachment here for the Devs. They'll probably be able to replicate it and fix the problem for 1.7.2 Final.

i save because some levels are impossible without heroes. dont you worry though, i'll be the first one to complete all the levels.

I'd like to see you beat all the levels up until landing at white falls 100%, and please, save as many times as you'd like. landing at falls was the first level i lost units in, as there are around 200 soulless lining the beach.
