Any chance you could easily add support for 2560x1440 to the list of resolutions in the Preferences? That's the native resolution of my Apple Cinema Display. Thanks!

Myth II currently supports 1920x1440. 2560x1440 is just wider.
how big is your monitor?

Do you have 2048x1152 or 1920x1080 as options in Myth? These two resolutions would also be 16:9 aspect ratio as 2560x1440.

there was a change fairly recently that made it so you get to see a little more of a map if your resolution is widescreen proportions, but the distance the camera is from the 'ground' is fixed no matter the size of your monitor. So, since you can't zoom-out any further with a big monitor than with a small one, your effective viewing distance of the map is the same (except for the extra bits you can see on the 'sides' if your monitor is widescreen proportioned).

oh i see. im on the 1280 resolution on my 15.6" dinosaur laptop. actually, any other resolution other than the max i can select, the sides of my computer are blacked out like a 4:3 aspect ratio. why is this?

The problem is the width, as myth currently only has interface bitmaps (top and bottom bars) up to 1920 wide. We're looking at supporting 2560 and ultimately generalizing this in the future.

2560 SHOULD make it in 1.7.2. I already did the collections for it. Just waiting for someone to get back to me with some other interface work files.

No, those options aren't available either. Looks like 16:9 support may be coming, based on GodzFire's much appreciated response, but no such support is available currently.

For what it's worth, if I select 1920x1440, it works except that the playable area is all the way to the left on my display. I wasn't really asking to see more of the map in 16:9 (although that would be cool). I'd be happy if the playable 4:3 area was just centered in the middle of the 16:9 screen.

I could easily be wrong, but it almost sounds like your graphics driver or settings aren't configured properly.

Reason I say that is because I have a 1920x1080 monitor (16x9), and M2 runs that size just fine.

There is already 16:9 support, but I guess the resolutions I mentioned might not have been added eventhough the Myth2 interface has files for them. I wouldn't listen too much to godzfire. He should not be saying that the resolution should make it, but instead say that it might make it according to the devs.

Does your monitor have an auto-adjust button? Sometimes when certain resolutions look off centered, pressing that button will readjust it for that resolution.

EDIT: Again, I edit a former post to reply to godzfire in an attempt to keep useless posts down in this thread.

Making files for him (that he didn't even ask for) is not working with him, specially when you know he isn't the one working on the interface tags. So your statement is false. Please try not to misinform people.

I wanna see screenshots of these resolutions if it happens. Especially if u guys have WW2 DDAY in High Res, which looks like a modern game in terms of graphics.

No, as I mentioned previously, it's an Apple 27" Cinema Display. It's an Apple product, so there are no buttons anywhere on it. And no driver settings to tweak in Mac OS X 10.6.6 either really, except for resolution, which I have set for the native resolution normally, and color calibration.

If I select 1920x1440 in the Myth II 1.7.2 Public Beta 2 Preferences screen and start playing a game, the playfield is aligned to the left edge of the display and there's a large black bar on the right side.

I just checked Myth II 1.7.1 (Universal Build 356), and it appears this is a regression. The playfield is correctly centered in the middle of my display in 1.7.1 with small(ish) black pillar bars on both sides of the playfield.

Hope this helps,
Ed
