what is needed more than random pages of crap and links to more myth crap (crap=myth trivia no one really cares about anymore), is people to collate and edit stuff into coherent 'articles'.

That was why I thought a myth wiki that people could use to create their own articles about aspects of myth that interested them would be a good thing to have.

Unfortunately I always underestimate the complete and utter laziness of 95% of the general population - myth community included.

I admit I was one of the lazy people who said they'd help and didn't. Nowadays I'd be more keen to help, but I don't know the URL or my password.

IF you HAD read it you would see that I set up a Myth wiki and was looking for assistance creating material for it, but the only person who volunteered to help when I announced it was Elfoid, and even he - a prolific myth content aggregator - lazed out in the end.

I did end up rewriting / reorganizing most of the wikipedia content for Myth II (much of it written/edited by Elf when it was on wikipedia?) - especially the stuff they were going to be deleting because it didn't fit their guidelines.
I haven't worked on it in a very long time, but you can see what I did on that project at http://www.mything.org/history .

Since I already have a site with a lot of info in it and even more content that I haven't even organized or published yet, that's going to take up any free time I have so I won't be contributing to your myth wiki. I do wish you luck in your project, I've thought for quite some time that an actively moderated Myth wiki could be a really good resource for the community.

At the time I set up the wiki it was difficult to implement any sophisticated security, and call me paranoid, but given what passes for 'normal' discourse in the community and what many people find 'funny' I wasn't and am still not about to open up factually accurate and reasonably well written information to editing by the internet (or this community) at large.

But, I am more than happy to encourage your endeavor. I hope your site is soon brimming full to overflowing with NEW, useful and interesting Myth related content.

ps. Everypage on mything.org has a link to my email address and/or info where to contact me, and I have and do actively encourage ANYONE to submit material/articles/etc to the site. I have even reposted a number of useful posts from these forums and the forums on mariusnet and at least one of the MWC sites, after doing the usual routine of contacting the author(s) for permission to republish the content.

pps. The Myth History section of mything.org IS a wiki. It's just not open to anonymous people to edit.

i disavow any knowledge of that list. and if it did come from mything.org (which i am sure it could have - "disavow" means "I don't remember") i doubt there were any claims of completeness.
