looks promising....it's still a wip engine....but definitely looks good!

Voxels are cool, but not for any of the reasons they demonstrate in those videos really. All of that stuff is possible - and in fact not that difficult - to do with polygons. Especially when they're just demoing heightfields or terrain... it's just not very hard.
Where voxels really shine is in their ability to do area queries... so stuff like soft shadows, depth of field, global illumination, etc.
To be clear, if there was no requirement to support older GPUs and software rendering, Myth 2's engine could fairly easily be "upgraded" to have pretty arbitrary terrain densities and texture resolutions; you can quite easily render more triangles than there are pixels on modern GPUs.

Those look awesome. The tire tracks one is really detailed and compatible with the physics of the moving vehicle.
