I recently changed from windows to mac with panther.
On the mac when I try to do a new map I can't import even the colour map...
I thought it was .pict but when I save my indexed map in pict and try to import it it says the map must be a multiple of 256...
my map is 1792x1792 and the exact map runs perfectly on windows as a bmp instead of a pict when I import it.
any ideas?
Also anyone has a good technique in photoshop to make a water level map with different water levels out of a reflection map without getting the horrible spikes on loathing in an easy way?
thanks,

hmmm, well you have to index all your maps to 240 colours to leave slots for blood and mesh stains in myth, to do this go to the image menu, select mode, and click on indexed colours, a window should appear, and put 240 in the box, then save as a .pct file and import into loathing, it should work then. there are lots of tutorials around on this check http://mythgraveyard.mything.org/newly_dead/ for some very good starter tutorials, or to refresh your memory.

Importing color maps, netgame preview, and sounds (importing anything really) does not seem to be possible in Mac OSX. As far as I can tell, because Fear opens in Classic, it has trouble somewhere along the way in importing from any files made in an OSX program. I have even tried using only Classic apps to create the color maps/sounds/previews, but even that doesn’t seem to work. The only way that I have found to remedy the problem (bear with me here) is to make the color map/sound/preview and then open it and re-save it on a computer with lower than Mac OS X. I have an old iMac with 8.6, and I use that for importing. After its imported though it works fine on any computer. It is an unfortunate problem, and if there is anyone out there who has had different results importing in Mac OSX, please let me know.

Uhhh.thanks a lot!!!!
I was starting to believe I was doing something wrong.
It's a relief to know that. Even in MAC OSX I had problems when transporting the maps already done to PC like weird textures in the middle of the colour maps and weird shadows.
Guess I'll have to take out of the dumpster that old PC..hehe
thanks!
