In-Game sound glitch
In-Game sound glitch
Not sure if this is already noted or being addressed in 1.8, but any plugin that has theme music in it, there is a sound glitch with it. So, if the sound is on and the music starts playing during the game, there is no way to turn it down or off (by using F3). If you use F3 and turn the sound all the way down before the music starts, then use F4 to turn it up, the music will never play. So basically, if the music is playing, you can't turn it off, and if the music starts when the sound is off, you can't turn it back on. Regular sound works fine. I actually don't mind this, because some maps you can avoid hearing the annoying music playing over and over, so all you have to do is make sure the sound is off when the music starts, and then turn it back on a few seconds later, and the music won't be playing at all.
Re: In-Game sound glitch
Indeed this is already fixed in 1.8. Sounds that have already begun playing will still have their volume adjusted by F3/F4.
Re: In-Game sound glitch
Also noticed that unit sounds, i.e. what they say during a taunt, what they say while attacking, or when they kill an enemy are always randomized in films. Was watching a film for this hilarious dwarf suicide I had (3 dwarves threw at a bird flying overhead at the same time) and 3 molotovs went straight up in the air, missed the bird, came down and killed all 3. In the one film, the dwarves say "incoming" as they are throwing, and as they get hit with their own bottles, you hear one say "idiot." Upon watching it again, they had no verbal communication this time and just died silently.
Nothing I'm suggesting that should be fixed or corrected, but it's just another one of those little tiny things. It's not like anything is lost or gained, and I can't recall a single time ever saving a game because of what a unit said during the course of the game.
And I just learned that it is the same in game too. So, when a unit taunts, like a WW2 soldier and says "this is my boom stick" the other person might hear "eat it."
Very interesting, so its like, everyone is playing together while playing in their own game of myth and preferences.
