So my friend has this Dell Inspiron 600m laptop, and I spent some time installing Myth 2 along with a gig and a half of plug-ins today, only to discover this issue:
When Myth 2 (v1.5) switches the resolution to 640x480, even though everything looks okay the video card pukes, puts up this countdown for how long until it quits whatever you're doing (Myth 2 in this case), and then kicks you back to the desktop again and again. There's an error message explaining the situation, but Myth kinda covers it and it disappears when you go back to the desktop. Any way to make the Myth menu run in a window or something?

The video card is a Radeon 9000 mobility, with the latest drivers from Dell, which aren't quite up to the most recent ATI catalyst software.
I'll try to get that error message, but the instant it shows up (when Myth is minimized) it disappears. All I could figure out was the jist of it which I related earlier, which I mainly fogired out via the countdown window that comes up ticking down 15 seconds or so, which kept flickering in its fight with Myth for supremacy.
Edit: alright, I got the screen shot. Turns out it's just the usual ever-helpful error message telling you that low resolutions look blurry on an LCD screen. Gee thanks, it's not completely ****ing obvious. Except when you put the warning in the foreground so you can click "don't show again" and "OK" it ****ing disappears. Then when you go back into Myth to try to get it back it won't even come up again and Myth minimizes itself, once again giving you a flash of the dialogue just to tantalize you into thinking that maybe this time you can tell your goddam computer to stop being IDIOTIC, but no. **** you Microsoft. And Dell.
