The Seventh God Plugin Help - Culture Shock Mission

I am stuck on the "Culture Shock" mission and need help. This is the first RPG level in the plugin. This is one of my first posts on this site so hopefully hiding the spoilers works.

I was able to get the amulet from the trolls and give it back to the elven dude to get the password but he has a messenger run up to the guards protecting the Head Disciple to keep you from getting past them. They will kill you in a cinematic and the level will end if you try to give them the password. I have tried talking to everyone but I have no idea what to do. This level just doesn't feel very straight forward and I am getting a bit frustrated!
