I tried submitting this to the Tain a few times over the last few weeks, but I'm not sure if it worked. Occasionally I also received an error message. So I thought I'd just post it here.

"Myth: The New Tactics" plugin (aka "Myth TNT")

This plugin is designed to expand the tactical depth of Myth2 multiplayer, with units and maps that complement the original content from Bungie.

All the new units are intended to add interesting new elements to netplay, and have been playtested for balance (and for FUN-factor of course). None of the original Myth/Myth2 units have been modified.

They have been designed to fit in with the art style and spirit of the original game units.
Despite being low-res the original units have a certain retro charm, and I wanted to add units that look like they belong in the Myth universe.

For meshes, there is an emphasis on smaller meshes that are suitable for quick action with only 2 players. However a few larger meshes are included and most have at least 4 starting locations. None of the meshes are completely original but I found both obscure and extremely excellent meshes that are worth sharing again and their authors are credited below. On many of them I have tweaked the colormaps, occasionally the landscape, and in some cases added detail textures where they were missing. This is also intended to be a collection of the best-of-the-best meshes ever made.

NEW UNITS
39 new units!
Including 5 all-new with new sprites, sound effects, etc.
Others have been borrowed from other plugins and modified, or are variants of the original Myth or Myth2 units.

###01 brutus###
* a true TANK unit, slow, high HP, high damage
* much higher health than trows, but slower

###02 sorceress###
* fast-attack magic unit, favors attack-and-retreat style
* low HP, short range projectiles
* special attack is a powerful close-range shockwave blast, 1 ammo only

###03 maggot###
* very fast, low damage, dies in 1 hit
* a "swarm" attack unit, good for targeting archers, fetch, etc
* also work well as scout units

###04 conjured one###
* a classic winged demon from hell
* medium range "fire trail" attack (uses mana)
* melee with sword
* special is short range fire/gas inferno, uses all mana, very high damage

###05 terrifying screecher###
* this is a mahir clone, but better for netplay because you can see it

###06 flaming screecher###
* primary attack is melee holding spell plus short-range fire
* special is dropping fire pellets to set landscape on fire

###07 shocking screecher###
* primary attack is melee holding spell plus short-range chain lightning
* special is a "nebula orb" that shocks anything nearby until it expires (uses mana)

###08 paralyzing screecher###
* primary attack is melee holding+confusion spell
* does no damage, only holds a unit in place

###09 putrifier###
* fast ghast variant
* poison gas special attack
* releases gas on death

###10 repugnant (immune to projectiles)###
* wight variant
* no suicide self-destruct, instead is a projectile unit
* vomites pus packets
* immune to projectiles

###11 boomer###
* large wight variant
* faster, more health, much larger explosion

###12 dwarf blast cannon###
* long range, slow to fire
* moves very slowly

###13 dwarf gas cannon###
* same as blast cannon, but shells create large poison gas cloud

###14 dwarf incendiary cannon###
* same as blast cannon, but shells create large fire on landscape

###15 dwarf axe###
* modified from 7th God to slightly lower HP and damage:
didn't seem right that they were stronger than berserks

###16 stormrider###
* a kind of high value super-fetch
* longer range, higher damage lightning compared to fetch
* more health than fetch
* has (2) melee attacks, powerful lightning melee and claws when mana is out
* chain lightning special attack (short range, uses most of mana)

###17 fear elemental###
* a "special" unit: attack does no damage
* close-range attack that inflicts confused panic in nearby units

###18 ironclad###
* a light tank unit
* slow, high health, moderately high damage

###19 dark ironclad###
* like above but with ammo-limited special: 3 lightning casts

###20 black knight###
* high value melee/healer unit
* 6 healing casts
* moderate dps, lots of health

###21 axe champion###
* high dps melee unit
* moderate health, but very high damage attack

###22 fir'Bolg Elite Archer###
* modified fir'bolg from Chimera to have longer range
* more realistic skin tone, was a little Simpsons-esque before

###23 fir'Bolg Elite Archer (disabling)###
* same as above but has an arrow that applies the Holding spell

###24 Heavy Cavalry###
* mounted knight unit
* very fast, will charge during attacks at higher speed
* moderate damage and hp

###25 The Wizard###
* powerful magic unit
* primary is electric/explosive "nebula ball"
* special is longer range ice spike attack

###26 Northmen###
* similar to berserk, same damage, same hp, slower sword swing
* same speed
* less likely to flinch (they have chainmail)

###27 Spearmen###
* these are an elite melee/ranged hybrid unit
* melee attack and special projectile attack
* spear throw limited to 6 ammo, will instagib most man-sized units
* tougher than warrior due to superior armor

###28 Grenadier###
* same hp as spearmen, same melee damage, same speed
* they have 5 grenades they can throw
* on death they drop all the grenades which detonate immediately

###29 Flame soulless###
* soulless variant
* flaming javelins that set the terrain ablaze
* slower toss repetitions

###30 poacher hero###
* poacher variant: with more "realistic" bullet damage
* 1-2 shots kill most man-sized units
* same hp, speed, etc as poacher

###31 martyr###
* suicide unit for the Light side
* slow as a wight, doesn't detonate on death
* she has a "holy aura" protecting her i.e. very high hp
* after her sacrifice mana from heaven is rained down, very high damage, kills anything

* long-range melee unit
* useless at close range
* same hp/damage/speed as warrior
