Iron Maiden are amazing. Listen to 'Fear of the Dark', 'Ghost of the Navigators' or 'The Troopers'......

'You'll take my life but I'll take yours too!
You shoot your musket then I'll run you through!' etc.

Other favourites: The Simpsons theme, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Animatrix Album, 'Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas' soundtrack, the Myth soundtrack (how could I forget that? ), the Puppet Master theme tune (the one from the Puppet Master films not the song) and a load of other film/TV themes.

I've got pretty eclectic tastes, most of which is not mainstream.

I like almost anything from ninja tune, in particular, cinematic orchestra, antibalas afrobeat orchestra, herbaliser, amon tobin, bonobo, dj food, kid koala, kid koala's band bullfrog, mr scruff, 9lazy9, some funki porcini, and some wagon christ.

I also like some jazz, classical, some classic rock, hip-hop (not hip-pop), spoken word (saul williams, buck 65), some electronic stuff, but again, typically nothing mainstream.

Rock and Metal - Tool, A Perfect Circle, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Rammstein (could be classed as part Techno)
Punk and Ska - Reel Big Fish, Goldfinger
Classical - Carmina Burana O' Fortuna, Toccata and Fugue in D Minor and lots of other things which make me sound like I have lots of classical knowledge but in truth just kicks ass :)
Soundtracks - Star Wars (Imperial March, Duel of the Fates), Myth (Siege of Madrigal, Limbs, heads and smoking craters, The Great Library)

And a whole ton of other stuff like Bananaphone by Raffi. I put Metal though as 90% of my playlist comes under that

Soundtracks. My all-time favorite is Conan the Barbarian. From Hell, Dances With Wolves, and Road to Perdition also bear mentioning. The Star Wars soundtracks are great, but they get a little repetitive; ditto for LOTR.

I like Blind Guardian's "A Night At The Opera" album, esp. "Battlefield" and "And Then There Was Silence." Don't care for much other metal though.

I also like October Project. And you can't really go wrong with U2.

Or Tchaikovsky (Piano Concerto No. 1), Brahms (Symphony 1 and most other orchestral works), and Sibelius (Finlandia, the Symphonies). And Dvorak. And mustn't forget Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique. And I could go on and on...

Any car that goes "THUD THUD THUD" down the street should be taken to the junkyard.
