I think the question has been asked, but they either got no response or were quoted a rather large sum.

Has anyone actually asked Take 2 if they're selling, and what for? I'd love to see a port of Myth for the 360 (if they can do the controls right) OR a new Myth game from Bungie. They're probably busy with Phoenix at the moment, though.
Halo:CE being the massively obvious reinterpretation of Marathon that it was... I just wish Bungie would take that strategy with Myth, or at the very least something with a strong medieval bent. Throw in Marty O'Donnell and it might as well be Myth, right?

Well that's basically what Phoenix looked like it was supposed to be. Craig Mullins' artwork was all... well, Myth-like!

What I want to see is a third/first-person medieval RTS/FPS, with fluid movement (such as injuries actually effecting people), a melee system similar to Fight Night and Balor in full 3D shiny HD lighting armour.

When I say RTS/FPS, I mean you should be able to command the battle from the ground, while you're controlling a particular unit directly.

Just pipe-dreams.

Maybe this is a question for a different topic;
but when Bungie-o-philes talk about "Phoenix", what was *actually* known about it?? All I ever see or hear is the name, and some paintings. To me that implies that it's just as real as Pimps At Sea!!

As far as we know Bungie is workin on some kind of Halo related ineractive movie not RTS game - its proly impossible to make anything close enuff to Myth on Xbox anyways ( at least as long as it will not require keyboard - and now imgaine: MS: hhmmm bungie will make Myth IV that will require addidtion xbox only keyboard - lets count circa: "2 MLN players" x "XXXX $" for sold MS-X360 keyboards = oh yea, lets rebuy the right to myth :P :P )

And upcoming Halo RTS will be proly 100% Command ad conquers style.

One thing Myth is an RTT, so if the Halo thing is an RTS it will be more like Starcraft, and C&C than Myth.

Peter Jackson and his new game studio is going to be making what was rumoured to be an interactive episodic Halo movie/game. I've also heard rumours that he's just making another trilogy of shooters based on Halo. It's all sketchy; I'm pretty sure Bungie doesn't have a huge part in it, though. They'll probably be as involved with it as they were with Halo Wars (maybe a touch more, in terms of storyline).

I'm not exactly sure how it all ended up being connected to Bungie, but:

These paintings at Craig Mullins' site (well known for painting the Marathon 2 and 3 chapter screens, as well as some Halo art) were labeled "mystery project". Maybe through some leaked conversation or document, it was made public knowledge that Bungie had something to do with a game, "Phoenix". This emblem (minus the Halo-ey bit on top) was leaked as well.

When asked, Bungie stated "Phoenix is dead, long live Phoenix!". Obviously there is the connotation that the Phoenix rise from the ashes after death and are reborn, which is a reasonable fact to attribute to Bungie, perhaps, making Phoenix after Halo 3. And, of course, Jason Jones having nearly NOTHING to do with Halo 3 means that he could have been in charge of another project on the side.

It should be known that the genre of Phoenix is totally unknown, and FPS is just what I hope for.

Also, there's more proof that Pimps at Sea is real, what with screenshots out!

I just hope they leave Halo alone for now. They've been working on it for 7 years or so, now. Anyway, what was this thread about?

Hmm somehow this mullins art seems like it isnt for a game to me.
Seems more like stuff that came out of his mind that he wanted to paint.

I also see a lot of noobs in the paintings that need to learn how to DODGE!

Getting impaled = bad
Dodge = good

I would think if bungie wanted to do another fantasy thing, they would just buy back the myth franchise...i hear they have a little bit of money ~8^)

cool paintings though!

Maybe they should just fuck the bullshit and go strait to the source and get the video game rights to the Black Company!

Of course, Jason Jones might just be a rich nerd who got bored of working all the time.
But I'd like to think there's some project he's working on.
