Some players ONLY do ww2. They could easily still play on 1.4.4. If u go into the Myth II folder of a newly installed Myth II v1.5.0 it has TWO applications. 'Myth II 1.5' and 'Myth II'. They probably deleted the Myth II icon but if they checked, it takes you into 1.4.4 which is still compatible with PlayMyth.net. You can't join non 1.4.x games but ww2ers wouldn't mind because all they play is ww2. Maybe all ww2ers should switch to 1.4.x again.

I don't do much ww2 but my m8 Smu (you might know him) recently started ww2 again with Doug (aka Dougs and Dougie) and he hasn't complained at all.

I rekon Magma shouldn't take it seriously cuz they rocks and everyone loves them except from a few anti-1.5ers

fear wrote:The only thing I have ever had a complaint about with 1.5 right now is the stabs in WW2. They seem so different now than before. On 1.4.x, you could run up to stab a red guy at full life and have no problem knowing you are going to win the stab. Now, they win the fight 99% of the time. I've gone to stab a red guy, gotten stabbed once at full health, and dropped to 1 point of damage left on me.

Only issue I have, but I remember it being posted before and a "nothing has been changed to affect stabs" response was given.(I think, not 100% sure tho).. But it could be something to look into, since WWII people are getting really pissed off about it.
stabbing was changed, you can use shift double click now to make units stab and it is easier than using the normal double click. The shift double click option should never have been put in.
what the hell is the pword to my old account?

Actually qwerty is right re that keystroke, its one of the things we're looking into with 1.5.1 (thanks for reminding me btw).

<rant>

Regarding stabs though, people are getting upset over how the plugin is designed, and blaming it on 1.5. Plain and simple.

WW2 has very wide random ranges for both soldier health and bayonet stab damage. ie...

Soldier Object: Health 2.0 to 2.5
Bayonet Stab: Damage 0.5 to 1.6

Given the above it is very possible to be lucky and have a unit near the max 2.5 health (which gives you an unfair advantage over an opponent who lucked out wth a 2.0 health unit, but that's the plugin). And he stabs you & it does 0.5 damage, barely scratching your guy, you could stab back and do a whopping 1.6 taking him down into the red in one hit. Its how Santa's Head designed the plugin, and anyone can look at the tags & see that for themselves.

I've never really figured this out...but if a unit gets hit in the head do they take more damage? Or is it just me and my warped little world thinking the M2 engine is more than it is? :)

Never heard of anythnig like location specific damage in any Myth game. I know that many attacks have a variable rate of damage, so some hits might do a little damage, while others might do a bit more. Perhaps that's what you are seeing?

I've always told my archers to aim for the eyes when shooting at trow. I'm sure one day they'll hit their target, and the trow will stop in its tracks, bellow with rage and start thrashing wildly in circles.

I keep telling my archers to aim for the family jewels, but apparently their targets are well armored down there. :D
