I dont think it would be 'thousands of years' of difference for RotD, since at one point alric and mazzarin must have fought together. they were both part of The Nine, all fighting the same fallen lords at the same time... Can we not assume that Mazzarin would know of Soulblighter if he was in a war against him and his master?

Er? We have what evidence that Mazzarin and Alric were anywhere near each other?

If all it is is that they were both part of The Nine, what evidence do we have that there was only one set of nine people known as The Nine?

Mazzarin was not part of the Nine. He was in an age before Connacht. He was the founder of the avatara. The nine that we know about are Cu Roi, Murgen, Rabican, and Alric.
