Loathing is being difficult - Map Action List is blank

I'm stalled on making my last level.

I've already wiped the thing and started over, from the colourmap up. And my Loathing is doing this same thing again:
After a while of working on my map, I will go to add a Map Action, and the list just goes blank. The actions are still there, but the names don't show up which is damned confusing.

It's not a disaster per se - I could just soldier on and do things a lot slower (considering I don't know which actions I'm picking) but I'd like to know if this is a problem that anyone else has encountered - and also if it's fixable.
