So I'm doing this Persian Immortal unit, that will be able to fight with spear, with bow and with dagger.
And I'm doing different sequences for each weapon.
Now in the bow sequences, this kind of warrior had a long shield that they placed on the ground against their knee and kneeling down they fired their arrows.
Question: how do you implement a transitional sequence where this warrior in between his standing animation (holding for attack or at ease) and firing he would kneel down?
without IN his fire animation have at beginning and end to do so?(this would make him look weird.....)
I thought of using the holding for attack sequence to have him already sitting down so when he fires his firing sequence is all sitting down...
but from standing to kneeling down there wouldn't be any transition and that would look weird too....
any ideas appreciated!
thanks!
Amber transition animations - New Archer unit that needs transitions
Make it part of the attack sequence, you should then have a big animation of like 12-15 frames. Then, lets say the first 5 frames are standing down, in amber, you set that frame to "loop" so that when you let him attack, he will play these 5 frames first and then always loop with the remaining ones until you order him to do something else. He will jump right back on his feet, but i think the effect could look quite cool.
Loop is located in the sequence bitmaps windows and is just beside the "sound" text field if i recall correctly.
This is the same effect used by the deceiver. He winds up his attack(lift the scepter) and then the last attack frame is looped over and over.

ups....couldn't make it work....
I placed in the sequence loop a number 4 that's the sequence frame for the loop to start(from 0 to 4 he sits down, from 4 to 12 he fires..)
and nothing at all happens, I changed the number a couple of times but still nothing, he keeps standing and sitting down all the time...
any other thing i should check in amber to make it happen?
thanks!!
