Mac OS X keyboard

Post by Greowulf »

I'm running Mac OS X 10.4.7. After clean loading 1.5.1 (or 1.6 beta), Myth II won't respond to any keyboard keys (Apple Extended Keyboard). The mouse, or trackball attached to the keyboard work fine. How can this be?

It's been 3 months and 120+ people have viewed my request above for help on the non-functional Mac keyboard with 1.5.1. Thinking that I screwed up and missed the many hundreds of posts on this topic, I searched for it...and only got my post. Is there some reason nobody can help?

Mac G4; 10.4.7; Myth II 1.5.1;

Can you post the contents of your myth_log.txt (in the Myth II folder)? Not sure it will help find your problem, though.

Most people, myself included, have Myth II working fine with Apple's keyboards on 10.4.x (try updating to 10.4.8 while you're there, though I'm not sure if it will help).

No other apps behave this way?

Thanks, Myrd. i was getting lonely. As you can see I actually am at Mac 10.4.8. I'm also using a MS Trackball Explorer, although it still failed with the Apple mouse. Note that the trackball/mouse work fine. Here's the text of the log file from yesterday's attempt:

Your log seems normal. Don't know what to tell you...

Try this: create a new user account in OS X and see if it happens on that account too (with no prefs etc set). If it works fine, then something's messed in your user account.

Myrd:
i deleted all of my Myth II preferences and there was no change. I then created a new account, as you suggested, and IT WORKED!! So much for OS X not having conflicts. At some point in time I'll try to determine which files caused the conflict. For the time being, thanks for your insight and problem solving skills.

Mac Keyboard not working--- Quicken Scheduler the culprit?

Post by snourse »

I know this thread is old... but I just noticed the same issue running version 1.6 and 1.6 Universal on Mac OS X 10.5

The fix for me was to disable Quicken Scheduler. It also causes problems with other games.

Wow. At least you figured out what was the cause of it.
