Extracting single level from Campaign

Post by Tireces »

Tireces wrote:Yo another problem here...
I want to extract one map from campaing (exactly from The Fallen Levels) and I have no blind idea how to do this. I always used "Topaz" to extract plugins and then "Chaos" to get specific unit, spell or anything else I needed - cant do this with full level tho. Any ideas ?

Then I start in loathing, and alt-print screen on the lists for scenery, models, lpgrs, sounds, etc and get a list of all the crap inside the map, and clear everything that I don't want (monsters, script, etc). Then I head over to fear and open up the mesh. I have a "Blank Local" folder on my hard drive that just contains empty folders named collections, scenery, sounds, etc, just like the local im copying from. It takes some getting familiar with the stuff to know exactly where to put it all, but I just go down the list in fear meshes and copy and paste from my localcopy into my localblank as im looking at the original local in fear. After I have everything from the mesh folder, I look at my screenshot lists and perhaps head into fears scenery folder, and get everything thats listed there, following through to be sure to get everything I need (sounds, projectiles, etc) and nothing else. After I have everything on my screenshot lists, I run myth and when it crashes I check the myth log and get whatever im missing, then repeat.

Its pretty tedious and sucks if its a large complicated map, if theres other ways I would really like to know.
yeah, me 2 - any1 know easier way ?

Decompile the plugin into a folder.

Put the mesh and it's stili by itself into an empty local and start it in M2. After the crash, open myth_log.txt and it'll give you some missing tags. Use the OS file search to search-in-files the missing tags' codes in the decompiled plugin folder and copy the results into the working Local folder. Keep repeating until everything is present for it to start without crashing.
