Myth II: Importing Sounds

Post by Taskman »

Fear 1.5 Documentation states I need 16-bit, 22 kHz AIFF sounds, but doesn't mention a number of other things I need to know:

Encoding: PCM, µ-Law, IMA, A-Law, MACE-3 or MACE-6?
Sampling Rate: 22050 Hz or 22254 Hz?

Thanks. :)

PCM, 22050 Hz seems to work

mono for ingame sounds
stereo for menu and solo-pregames
do it.

Hints are easy to change - they're stored in Fear as string lists. Just make a string list tag, separate each hint with a hard return, and then set that tag in your map's Hints List in the Meshes part of Fear.

You should read through the Fear and Loathing documentation that comes with them - they have most of the information you'll need.
The cake is a lie.
