damaged cd and no-cd request

Post by sequrius »

Hi all
Recently I've purchased a Myth 3 cd from one guy on yard sale. Problem is that cd is so badly scratched that after whole afternoon of trying I've merely managed to run installation but it brakes on 20-something %... so with tools for cd data recovery I've managed to copy whole content of cd onto my HDD and then I've made readable copy of Myth. But the problem now is that it keeps asking for original cd to play the game. Well, that wouldn't be a problem if original wasn't so scratched so as i said my dvd rom gets a very hard time while starting to read it
so I was wondering is it possible for you who made those new patches to make them in no-cd version? It would be a life saver! Please!

Hmmm. There is a myth III patch, but I don't recall if it is no-cd or not, or if where you can get it for that matter... maybe mariusnet.com?

I think he's talking about a Myth 3 cd?

If you've managed to get a whole copy of it onto your HD, then all you need to do now is burn a CD of it, right? You've got a legit copy (I'd keep that) so you should be good to go.

you can also create an image of the CD, Myth III does not have built in protection and any good virtual CDs should work.

I use roxio on mac and daemon tool on pc and both work!
