Windows VISTA

Post by Azrael »

Well, I bought this game back in '98 and played it for like 6 years. Since then I had lost my CD, so I decided I had the full legal right to download the torrent of it but it wouldn't work. Is it just me or is it Vista? I'd be willing to buy it again if I have to.

With Vista it could be that you need to change permission to run it -- using "Run As ..." or some such.

I've heard of this working before from others using Vista, but I'll defer to someone who actually uses the O/S for playing Myth (I'm a die-hard XP-Pro user).

Make sure you update it, Windows Modern unless you got issues then go with Windows Classic. Try compatability mode or changing the something I forget so it runs better in multi-core setup.

Yeah what DA said, when I was trying to think of that it was late at night and the only word that came close was infinity, which I knew it wasn't it.

I'm not that computer savvy, can you break it down barney style for me? I'd really appreciate it.

Only run the executables from the Projectmagma update, never run executables from filesharing networks unless you can verify they aren't trojaned.

Hrm, I'm afraid not. I'm not actually a vista user, so I don't actually know if that's the best way to do that, I just found it after a few minutes of research. I know the topic has been discussed on here before, and on the mariusnet (www.mariusnet.com) forums, so you might try searching around. Hope that helps,
