The truth is...
A good game never dies.
Myth will live on!

Re: Starcraft 2 >>>>>>>>>>> Myth
HUR HUR LOOK AT ME, I KEN MAKE NEW TOPICS PRETENDING THAT MY OPINION = FACT.
Seriously. There's a few things to look at here: First. it just came out. You've been playing Myth for years, sure you think it's great now, but I wouldn't trust your opinion for at least a few months until the 'new game-buzz' wears off. Second, this is a Myth forum, what are you trying to accomplish? The people that are going to play StarCraft II already know about it, and the people who don't want to or can't don't need to be reminded about it. Third, your opinion is not a fact. Quality of a game, and how much you enjoy it is subjective. Fourth, While the game has some nice modding tools, it's not really -that- similar to Myth making it even harder to compare. Sure, it's in a sister genre, but that really doesn't mean much.

have you tried it JG ?
Re: Starcraft 2 >>>>>>>>>>> Myth
Well if we're comparing modern releases with a game that's over a decade old, that's a bit silly. In terms of graphics, myth has nothing on halo, starcraft, warcraft, grand theft auto, red dead redemption (sexy game btw), etc etc etc etc.
In terms of gameplay... well it's just different.
its like saying your new sportscar is a hell of a lot faster than your old pickup truck. they are meant for different things

You are in for a long and arduous journey. Then, after the installation process is complete, your arduous journey moves on to the patch. After this is complete, you must sign in, online, in order to play your game. Then you attach your sixty-dollar purchase to a particular account, and are permitted to play. Welcome to the Blizzard's immersive adventure, featuring an online totalitarian simulation, and some kind of computer game.
If you have two kids who play, or you play and a kid plays, you will need to buy separate copies of the game for each of you if you want to have two saved games or play online under different names. The game is connected to your online account, and when you sign in you play as the name you created. Someone can play as "Guest", but with very limited privileges.
Studies clearly show that people who steal games will enjoy them less if those of us who paid for them are run through an abattoir before we're allowed to play.
The game itself is fine. Starcraft with new 3D images and tweaks to gameplay (begin arguing about how the tweaks are HUGE and IMPORTANT ... now). All that's really really changed is Blizzard's ability to make us jump through hoops.

Re: Starcraft 2 >>>>>>>>>>> Myth
That wasn't my post (tried to show that with the source link..).
I've played WoW far too much. I quit quite a while back, but I feel ADDICTED to it. Every now and then I get this 'need' to play it again, to be in that fantasy world.. Thankfully that world was shattered some time ago and I can resist the addiction. I'm fully aware of their hoops.
I only bought SC2 for the third party maps. Current map creation is limited in terms of map size and other various parameters compared to WC3 (According to what I've read), but hopefully that will change with time and people will be churning out some fairly awesome stuff just as they did with Myth. Really there's some cool stuff already happening.

I can't play it, I run an old 'windtunel' G4 tower, which is 867Mhz dual processor. Not anywhere near the range of specs to play SC2.he people that are going to play StarCraft II already know about it, and the people who don't want to or can't don't need to be reminded about it.
I really don't care about SC2 though, I didn't like the first, and I'm not in the boat of thinking that user created mods costing money is a good idea. I would try the game if I had a computer that could play it, and a free copy of the game, but otherwise, eh.
- I'm sorry I blew up like that in my first post though. Apologies.

Re: Starcraft 2 >>>>>>>>>>> Myth
Well I knew SC2 was coming, I just wasn't keeping track of it. So it isn't true that people that want to play it already knew when exactly it was coming out. I didn't until a few days ago when other people mentioned it.Jon God wrote:the people that are going to play StarCraft II already know about it, and the people who don't want to or can't don't need to be reminded about it.
No one mentioned mods that cost money. Besides, there will always be free mods no matter there being some that cost money. I liked the first one, and the second one looks like fun.Jon God wrote:I really don't care about SC2 though, I didn't like the first, and I'm not in the boat of thinking that user created mods costing money is a good idea. Re: Starcraft 2 >>>>>>>>>>> Myth
it's all subjective
but I think starcraft sucks
doesn't appeal me at all, even if someone gave it for free.

Re: Starcraft 2 >>>>>>>>>>> Myth
all opinion, what's the point of arguing? they aren't even the same kind of game (AFAIK) SC is a long term strategy game, and Myth is a Real time strategy - game. those are two completely seperate beasts. might as well argue which is better, Myth or Halo.
