myth2 1.7.1 installer won't recognize folder

I point the myth2 1.7.1 installer to my myth 2 folder, but I get an error saying I must select my myth 2 folder. I am running Mac OS 10.6.5 and have the M2 1.7 update.

What options do I have for updating to 1.7.1?

The check for whether a folder is a "Myth II" folder in the installer is very simple. It just checks whether the folder has a "tags" folder in it with a file called "small install" inside it. If that's not the case for the folder you're selecting, then it really isn't a Myth II folder...
