Blue and Grey - Little Flat Top? - Is a new B&G plugin coming out soon?

Talk about anything here.

Hey all,

I recently came to the Project Magma downloads page to look at screenshots of the Blue and Grey civil war mod. It is my favorite mod, and I am currently in an order at PlayMyth dedicated to playing the mod almost exclusively. The order is called the Killer Angels.

Anyway, when looking at the screenshots, it struck me as odd that one of the maps was a co-op titled "Little Flat Top." Now, in all of the time I have played Blue and Grey I have never seen this map, and only remember playing one co-op called "Honor Redeemed."

I did a little bit more research and found a sentence in the Blue and Grey Manuel that said:
"There were two additional maps that could not be readied in time for release - look for another Project Magma plugin for Blue & Grey in the not too distant future."

Is this new plugin for Blue and Grey ever coming? I have been playing Blue and Grey for a really long time and I don't remember the additional plugin ever being released. If it is going to be released, however, when should everyone expect it? From the screenshots, Little Flat Top looks pretty darn cool, and we're always lookin for a new B&G co-op.

Thanks!

Here are the screenshots that I am talking about:

i don't believe there are any plans to release this map, but if I recall correctly, it was all but done. The author just wasn't satisfied with the gameplay dynamics. Perhaps someone could convince him to release it as is.

That's kinda dissapointing. However, if that is the case with Little Flat Top, it would be nice if it could be released as it is. It'd be nice to at least give the map a try.

Anyway, what about the other map? The manuel said there were two that were not included. Was it another co-op?

Quite curious.

There were a couple minor AI bugs with Little Flat Top, but personally, I still thought it was the most fun B&G coop.

If that's the case then I'd thoroughly enjoy playing the map. I wish it would be released as it is...

What is the other one though?

Teepens was the author or both LFT and the other one, which was set around a creek/swamp with steep banks. LFT wasn't bad, but basically as the player you had one strategy - hold that wall at all costs. There wasn't much scope for movement until you retreated back to another wall late in the game.

I no longer have a copy of either plugin, so hopefully someone could contact Teeps and get him to release them.

Excellent, excellent... I've been lookin for a good B&G co-op lately.

Does anyone know how I would go about contacting Teepens? It'd be awesome if I could get him to release both maps.

Thanks iron. You've been really helpful.

I sent Teepens the following message:

Teepens,

I recently started a forum thread about the Blue and Grey plugin that you helped make. It is stellar, and I am currently in an order on PlayMyth dedicated to playing it almost exclusively.

You can find my thread here. Anyway, I was asking around about two Blue and Grey co-op maps that you authored but didn't release. One was called Little Flat Top and I am unsure as to the name of the other. In the thread I was told by Iron and a few others that the maps were very fun, however you didn't release them due to minor AI or playability issues. Honestly, I am still rather unsure as to why you didn't release them.

I was just wondering if you would be so kind as to release them for us anyway, even if they still have some minor issues. I heard that despite any problems they were still very fun. It would be excellent to add two Blue and Grey co-op maps into the mix, because there is a limited number as it is. It'd be great to have more maps for such an excellent plugin.

Anyway, please consider it. If you would email them to daviddouds@alltel.net it'd be great.

-David

I hope he responds.

Teepens told me in an email that he only has a copy of the swamp co-op on his HD.

Does anyone else have a copy of Little Flat Top somewhere, or know someone else who does? It looks like such a good map....

//veer slightly off-topic//

Did you know that "The Battle of the Blue & Grey" was the first single by the BeeGees?

I wonder if ProjectMagma B&G mapmakers were big BeeGee fans?

//veer back on-topic//

btw, good luck with the search for flattop - with any luck someone will have a copy.
Lots of Myth stuff at http://mythgraveyard.org.
