Re: OS X hex editor
Yeah, it's been around for probably close to 20 years now. The Mac OS X version isn't the cleanest app (it's most obviously a classic application at heart, although it no longer runs under classic), but I prefer the editor and search behaviors over HexFiend (with its use of mostly standard AppKit el...

Re: OS X hex editor
I still much prefer HexEdit . It's pretty funky (and old), but it's free and it works. HexFiend wasn't terrible, but too much of it is just uses standard Cocoa behaviors. Carbon controls were more sensible (Cocoa's equivalents differ just enough from the classic Mac way to never seem to be quite as ...

Re: optimal graphic setting for Myth 2
It varies. The feature that allows you to use detail textures (Landscape Textures in prefs) will only work on OpenGL. Not all systems run well on OpenGL so you might have to compare with the other options. Software rendering should be a last resort. So if your system can take it, here are the setti...

Re: Missing Interface in Myth:TFL 1.5?
This worked perfectly. I couldn't find any options in preferences but F6 did the trick. Now I need to figure out how to get the lower status bar (formations, etc.) to appear. I tried all the function keys but no dice. Any ideas? Thanks again for helping. TFL features only the status (top) bar. The ...

Re: Does Myth TFL/SB/tools Under "Classic Mode" on OSX work?
Will Myth TFL + the TFL Editing tools (specifically Loathing, Tagedit, Extractor) work under Classic Mode? When I say Classic Mode I mean the emulated OS9 that is available in early versions of OS X for PPC Machines. I am not referring to booting into OS 9. They should work just fine under Classic....

Re: Myth II 1.7.1 Public Beta
It's hard to hand count 92 kills in a mazz game. Why not just have it count from kill 2. First kill makes the first shield show up, then every subsequent kill is simply counted. Maybe make it a pref if people argue that they like to see a big band of shields across their statusbar. Maybe it should ...

As someone who played Myth III in all its lack of glory... yes, I imagine talking crap about it is pretty universally popular.GodzFire wrote:Again, people bashing M3 because it's the "popular" thing
But it's all right! We have you to defend her! :P

Re: Myth TFL map loading problem
Ooh, is there a "vSuck" (virtual Worst Game Ever) mode which makes Myth 2 behave like Myth III? Magma can even release The Unfinished Levels, a plugin of all the painful memories you have of playing the single player maps... OK, so you cast on that Maul ancestor thing and then you run-run-...

The serial numbers were for Bungie.net play.
I still have mine too, and I think I actually have a card with extra around here somewhere.

Hold down the Shift key when selecting New Game (or when pressing the OK button in the Plugin activation dialog) to see if there are any additional levels?

Re: Changing stone and paralysis tint color?
I'm pretty sure it's hardcode. You might be able to blow kisses at Myrd or someone for some sort of workaround. Maybe a special string list that lets you specify RGB values and percentages for overriding any hardcoded tints. Or maybe a power_user.txt-like special ini file, but that wouldn't be map-f...

Re: Zoom and TFL 1.5
Well having the original is great and all, but for the people who wish to play TFL with others... and others might not have it or can't run it... vTFL is great. Certainly, vTFL is pretty much the *only* way to do TFL multiplayer (except for local groups). As for the whole differences... I hope you ...

Re: Zoom and TFL 1.5
You already compared them when you claimed "TFL > vTFL". You can think TFL != vTFL if that's more to your satisfaction. Unless you're asserting that you honestly could not tell the difference between a TFL game and a vTFL game played one after the other, for any reason, I think it's a bit...

Re: Zoom and TFL 1.5
Why not specify what is different between TFL and vTFL... something, anything but don't be too vague. Maybe its fixable for some future Myth 2 update. If it is really as different as you say, then it shouldn't be too difficult to specify an example. But I don't play vTFL. Certainly, if that's the o...

Re: Zoom and TFL 1.5
Play a game of TFL. Play a game of vTFL. You should catch on pretty quickly that one is the authentic Myth experience and the other isn't. You may not care about such things, but there are people (like me) who do, and pointing out that you can play TFL in Myth II and further accelerating this great ...
