Hi all,
every time I attempt to create a new collection with Amber I run into the same brick wall. Having edited my stuff in photoshop I save it as indexed bitmaps and then attempt to import it with Amber. The first one works out okay, but as soon as I try to import another I get a message warning me the color tables of the bitmap and the tag do not match. I am given the option of either changing the color table of the tag or the bitmap. The latter makes the bitmap turn weird and crappy-looking, while the former does the same to every other bitmap in the tag except the one I was importing. And the difference between the colour tables of the bitmaps is really very small!
So how do I get past this?
Amber, Colour Table, Importing Bitmaps
Amber always says color table doesnt match on first import once one file is imported thats the color table all the rest should use... to index the color table to 240 colors you can use either graphic converter on the mac.. (trial version is free for 30 days or so) or photoshop batch. to get the best color table take some variations of the bitmaps that will be used in the colection put into one image file then index that image to 240 colors then save the color table edit the color table for seperator background and transparency color then save again... then batch all your other bitmaps in that collection to that color table before importing with amber.... its a pain but is quick and easy...

if one does not learn from the failings of the past they are likely to suffer its return.
