New Unit

Post by Nameless »

I am sadly unable to use Amber because I have a commie PC. Any word on Windows Amber? Anyone!?

SOOOO... if anyone would be interested in creating a myrkridian packmage (from m3) I would be much obliged. I realize this is a lot of work and would do it myself if it was not for the fact that I don't own a Mac. I'm sure the unit would be used by more people that just me.

Do you need custom graphics? The pack-mage looks mostly the same as a normal myrk anyway, custom colouring and the attacks (lighting + raise the dead) and no-one's really going to notice that much?

Regrettably, I do not have the bitmaps done, my attempts are laughable at best. I wanted to use a pack-mage in a map, I made a regular myrk with all the pack-mage skills but it doesnt feel right. I thought it would look better if someone made a new custom graphic, what with the skinny bat-like m3 look.

Hrm, it's a lot of work to ask of someone though, it took me a very long time just to do some basic cannons in Bryce, they turned out nice, but yeah, took a while heh.

One thing to try maybe, if you can run Myth III well enough you could possible cheat in order to get your bitmaps out. By making a map with a single solid colour (e.g blue), turn off anti-aliasing, filtering etc, then place a pack-mage and script a camera to follow it. Then get a video recording tool and move the pack-mage around, use attacks, and do this for all the angles you need, e.g:

0º (facing the camera)
45º
90º (facing left)
135º
180º (facing away)

Then go through your video and pick out individual frames of animation and set them up as collection of images named something like:
And ambering is then easy. I know someone did a Trow iron warrior I think by re-creating the 3d model, but that's a bit excessive mb.
