I'm looking for Green Berets, but can't seem to find it.
On some past reviews I read, it seemed installation would be difficult as well. Is it on uDogs? Is it in an easier to install format?
I'm really looking for a campaign more than anything.
I know special forces uses most of the same units, but there isn't a campaign for SF.
Where parts mite one nowdays find Green Berets?

I decided to look up in the sky, and lo and behold there was a BoB. I stared at him, and he stared back. There was silence for a great while until he said in a thunderous, booming voice..."Okay, Okay, DON'T Frogblast the ventcore."

Since its been distributed by T2 I don't know if it would actually be legal to distribute online. Certainly no one I know who's asked about it has been able to find it. eBay value is dirt cheap though.
SF did have one add-on map other than Carnage Islands - Tactical Training Grounds. Find that for more SF action if you've not heard of it - a lot of people never played it.

Ironically, it was that very add-on that made me wish for a campaign of sorts with more sustenance. While it was fun for a small time, it's gameplay suffered from the fact that you basically just have a team mate control artillery and things on the ramparts, and you just set up the tanks and huey to blast the guys coming through the gate.
When is Special Forces 2 coming out? I'm sure Frenzy of the Damned would be a whole lot funner if I could actually use that feature.

Elfoid please cut the crap. You've been around on the forums and seen enough of these conversations to know that without a shadow of a doubt that it is ILLEGAL to distribute ANY software that the creator/owner/distributer hasn't given permission to distribute. If Take2 had given permission to distribute it you would know about it, it would be available. The fact that it's not, and that no one you know can find it for free online is the best indicator that Take2 HASN'T given the software away. The Elfoid wrote:Since its been distributed by T2 I don't know if it would actually be legal to distribute online. One might rationalize and say (if it were true) "Company X doesn't sell game Y anymore so if I use a bootleg copy I am not depriving Company X of any revenue" but that's a moral/ethical argument/rationalization, not a legal one.
Legally (at least in the US/Britain and other countries with similar copyright laws) only the company owning the rights to a game can determine how a game can be distributed. Anyone else deciding on their own to (re)distribute copyrighted material is breaking the law.
It doesn't matter how EASY it is to distribute or download, it's still illegal. Just like if a store leaves it's doors open. If you walk in and take something it's just as much stealing as if you broke a window and took something.

I was effectively saying that but with a degree of caution since I don't actually know

Not to put to fine a line on it ("say you're the only bee in my bonnet") but if you had effectively said that I wouldn't have thought you were saying something different now would I?The Elfoid wrote:I was effectively saying that but with a degree of caution since I don't actually know
Also, given how many times this has been brought up on various myth forums you participate in, I am thinking you must be a really slow learner.
So I am curious - have you learned, and do you now "know" that it's against the law to distribute or download copyrighted material without the permission of the copyright holder? OR is there some part of that is confusing?

I really hate how difficult it becomes to aquire old games or outdated games now days. Sometimes I wish that once a old game hit the 10 year mark, it would automatically be set free, unless a "compliation anniversary pack was made."
Thank god that Magma has done such a good job updating Myth for modern OS's. Could you imagine if none of that had been done? Eventually it would be impossible to play on Macs and PCs.
I wish it could be free like Star Control 2...

I don't think it's hard to locate for anyone who is looking for it, but it not being available in brick and mortar or online stores means no one is going to discover it while browsing.Cobalt 7 wrote:I really hate how difficult it becomes to aquire old games or outdated games now days. I'm just really bad at getting my message accross. And I am TRYING to improve that. Also, given how many times this has been brought up on various myth forums you participate in, I am thinking you must be a really slow learner.
