A loathing/fear designer

Post by someone »

Hi,

I am looking for some help/design in the fear/loathing department. Bascially someone to do it all, I'll make the CMaps and someone to finish it off.

I'll leave it as freewill maping to do whatever you want, except you have to make at least 1 of the versions according (roughly) to my specifications.

So if anyone is interested apply within! :)

Regards,

eibwen.

If you making multiplayer maps I am sure by using one of the mapmaking tutorials you could make it yourself. The Loathing work is pretty simple for a ffa map (though sometimes time-consuming). As for needing help with Fear, other than turning a couple of switches on and importing your overhead map (all described in the mapmaking tutorials) when you are making a multiplayer map you don't need to mess with Fear at all unless you are making a solo map, modifying/creating-new units, or doing some other tweakage.

If you are looking for a good mapmaking tutorial, I would recommend mapmaking for Newbies (don't be put off by the title, it's quite good) and Cydonian's Mapmaking Tutorial. Cydonian's is very good and concise, The Newbie guide is more detailed and walks you through the whole process from start to finish.

More useful mapmaking links here.

Hi vinylrake,

Thanks for the suggestion. But I am already fairly well versed in loathing/fear its more so I don't have the time to do all the loathing/fear/testing.

I can understand that. I find the testing/revising loop to take inordinately long.

haha yeah vinylrake, i've made a few cmaps but i've never completed one becasue of that stage! omg i hate reflection maps too!

this map was designed to be a 2 team multiplayer map, i did start the plugin for it but never finished it. its highlights was really playing Terries/FR due to the platforms.

I wanted to add another dimension - if you will, to multiplyer by adding the 2nd layer, sorta like Clash/Cracks cloudspine except they're connected. So like you could just try and control the platforms or could just try to control the ground or mix it up, to make it interesting.

Though its really up to you, and im sure you could even make a solo out of it. It has been a long time since i've worked on it but I think I found that the starting locations (biggest platforms) were too close to the boarders, that might of been a problem with the map but apart from that I think it should be okay - if you find it a problem I can fix it up.[/img]
