Awesomeness Arrives: Myth Ipad App
Awesomeness Arrives: Myth Ipad App
The real-time strategy game of the year returns. Gameplay remains true to the original and is very similar to other strategy games. You have a number of units you command on the battlefield, each serving different functions. But unlike most strategy games Myth II for the IPad focuses entirely on combat and troop utilization.
When beginning work on the IPad port, the Bungie developers teamed with select Myth gamers and the IPad development team to create a truly outstanding user gaming experience. According to Bungie, the first thing to improve was the interface. So the interface has been made more accessible with two additions -- the ability to move the camera with a unique floating navigation pad which facilitates intuitive camera and troop movements and a new multitouch interface that offers one-click access to a number of formations and other common commands such as zooming in or out of the action.
Bungie has kept the same networked gameplay option, the designers have added a number of new game types as well increasing the number of simultaneous players on a host--now allowing up to 32 people to play on the same map.
The Myth II IPad app is expected to be available mid-August on the itunes store with an MSRP of $15.99

Re: Awesomeness Arrives: Myth Ipad App
I believe the level is Homecoming, a solo mission.
Re: Awesomeness Arrives: Myth Ipad App
Oh _NOW_ bungie is interested in myth again. Typical!
Re: Awesomeness Arrives: Myth Ipad App
Well yeah obviously its fake, but i wouldnt put it past bungie to do something like that:P
Re: Awesomeness Arrives: Myth Ipad App
That actually looks pretty good. I wonder how well the controls would/could work.

Re: Awesomeness Arrives: Myth Ipad App
Well myth can be played with only a mouse (to a certain extent) proficiently, so as long as there was, say, the control bar at the bottom of the screen, I think it would translate pretty damn wellMelekor wrote:That actually looks pretty good. I wonder how well the controls would/could work.

Status and control bar, and a few choice interface enhancements.oogaBooga wrote:Well myth can be played with only a mouse (to a certain extent) proficiently, so as long as there was, say, the control bar at the bottom of the screen, I think it would translate pretty damn wellMelekor wrote:That actually looks pretty good. Re: Awesomeness Arrives: Myth Ipad App
before a pic like that could remotely be real you'd have heard about Bungie buying back the Myth IP from Take2.
Re: Awesomeness Arrives: Myth Ipad App
Also.. why the blurry Myth screenshot. The rest of the iPad pic is clear.. no harm in making the Myth actually look clear.
Re: Awesomeness Arrives: Myth Ipad App
vastly disparate pic resolution and upsizing the lower res myth screen shot instead of the other way around?Isolder wrote:Also.. why the blurry Myth screenshot.
Re: Awesomeness Arrives: Myth Ipad App
If you are referring to photo #3? Then the focus point is actually on the hand, so its a depth of focus issue, not a resolution issue. Seems like Myst on an IPad is looking really awesomeness.
Anyways, any constructive thoughts on the new control interface?

Yeah, it should exist (along with the app itself)
