Did you make a string in the String Lists for the Map Description in Fear? You have to make that string and then set the string as the map description in the Mesh tag.
The cake is a lie.

Is your map single-player or multiplayer? If single-player (which I assume since you only have one observer), make sure the Mesh tag has the "Single Player Map" box checked. Then, hold down the Shift key when you click "New Game" in Myth (this makes the map list show all maps, not just maps you've done before).

The name of your map in the list is defined by the first line in the map description string.
The cake is a lie.

If you're still having problems with it, you could upload the mesh and let us have a look at it.

Also, if you initially missed something as crucial as the mapname string, you might have missed something equally crucial. It might be worth a few minutes of your time to read through one of the short mapmaking guides to see if there's anything else you missed.

I would suggest Cydonian's Mapmaking Tutorial - if you don't want to read the whole thing (though it is very short and has VERY useful info in it), skip down to section 5 ("V. Testing and Playing Your Mesh").

Also, there is a Mapmaking for Newbies tutorial by Heal with Steel which is VERY good and very detailed.
Lots of Myth stuff at http://mythgraveyard.org.
Sometimes I put hard to find stuff in my my Udogs folder.
