Reviews of Blood Makes the Grass Grow

This rating and review are based on the 'Map-Making' aspect. Not the gameplay.
Rather good for a first map, and as such, I wont nit-pick all the issues i had when trying to beat BMtGG and mention the ones I consider an important part of any map.
Its kinda cool without a postgame attached in the MESH tag that the level reloads immediatley after the level ends, but I would have liked a postgame so i could have seen what my kills/damage ratio were after getting Tro-unced. Or on the off chance i coulda won. ;o)
I liked the layout and the terrain, CMap were acceptable for a nOOb. ;o) However, it was kinda cramp. This is fine for the playfeild, but it woulda been nice to have a bit more camera room at the maps edges. I had this same issue with my first map and have since learned 'always make your CMap big enough to allow a decent distance from the maps edges.
Unit sets were interesting, but like most freshly inducted mapmakers, the units themselves have been tweaked more for FX than for balance. While doing this is cool and fun for any mapmaker, without careful forethought and testing, these types of units tend to, 'break' the rock, paper, scissors balancing of its units that is one of, if the THE, major sources of fun with playing Myth.
Scripting was decent, though enemy 'awareness' of the players units seemed to be minimal at best with my Mort taking a good chunk out of their hides with its initial attack before the enemy reacted. On the other hand, Tro and Troll seemed to trigger as soon as you got 'too' close, so no way to avoid battling them and thus losing half my units. :o(
All in All, good for a first map. :oD As a fellow mapmaker, the main advice i feel i could give you is . . .
Take your time.
Always try to improve upon/expand what you've learned in previous maps.
Ask LOTSA questions when you're uncertain about anything Myth-Mapmaking. Between forums, Hotlines, and still currently active mapmakers, there is a goodly amount of knowledge out here that can be tapped. :o)
Great map. fun kiting methods needed. Would love these archers on more plugins.
