Myth beta pic
Myth beta file location

The beta files are located in a hidden folder. Use TinkerTool to show hidden files.

Re: Tag Differences Between Myth 2 And Myth 3

I didn't say they were bad, I said they were so-so. In my opinion, there's nothing too terribly special about the M3 models that would warrant a complete reverse engineering. Let's say you have 40 hours of free time (an arbitrary number). You can do one of the following: 1) hammer through the hex da...

Re: Any essential Myth Tools needing to be updated?

Fear/Loathing: according to Activity Monitor, Fear & Loathing 1.7 still show up as PowerPC apps. I can see that for Fear. It still seems sluggish even on my Mac Pro. Loathing feels snappy though. Snappy ≠ UB. FWIW, Amber runs 'snappy' in Classic. So Godz, you gonna program these new apps? You...

Re: Any essential Myth Tools needing to be updated?

M1 to M2: why do you need the TFL GOR files converted when there's The Fallen Levels ? I disagree that we are 'pretty well covered right now with the modern tools we have'. For example: HeadEditX is not nearly as functional as Head Edit (Mac classic). The old Head Edit allowed you to convert tags be...

Re: Tag Differences Between Myth 2 And Myth 3

Such a shame that everything we want are sitting in the tags. If only we could figure out a way to get them out. The Vengeance source code has the 'template' stating what the skeletal model/anim file formats are like and which data is what. So knowing the format of the data is easy. The difficult p...

Re: Gentle Prodding

Thanks DA. I know a public posting is not generally the best way to get results like this, but it was much easier than spamming multiple admins with PMs (and less likely I'd get a 'I don't see the pending file' message once the files were approved).

UnTag version .5

Just a quick note to let you know a new version of UnTag has arrived. This handy app lets you extract individual tags from large plugin files; a very useful app to have if you do any sort of map making. Mac version: download Windows version: download There are a slew of new feature (too many to list...

Re: Problem Fixer

It would be nice to get 1500 people playing Myth.. It would be nice to get 150 people playing Myth. Just wondering aloud: wouldn't it be nice to strike a deal with Take Two so we could sell a legit copy of Myth (via download). That way people could jump in and play immediately instead of trolling e...

Gentle Prodding

Just checking to see if one of the Admins can verify my upload. I uploaded an app last week but it is still 'pending'. (I'm mostly concerned that, for some reason, the upload is sitting in Tain Limbo.)

Re: Installing Myth II for the first time on OS X via 1.7

Har: wouldn't an OS X installer basically do the following:

-make a new folder on a HD
-copy tags from CD to said folder
-copy Myth 2 1.7 app to said folder

If that's the case, then a simple Applescript should suffice.

Re: The M3 Interface for M2: A work in progress

As has been mentioned elsewhere, get Myrd's Dialog Editor to work with the nuts and bolts of a dialog file. It's not WYSIWYG but much MUCH better than hex editing. 1) Extract dialog file(s) 2) Open dialog files in Dialog Editor 3) Play with the different controls (lower left side) to change their si...

Re: Reinstalled Myth III; no narrative sounds?

First, make sure you're updated to the latest version. Check the Tain (I'm sure you already did this.)

Second, check the 'movies' folder in the Myth III installation folder. You should have almost 100 files (some mp3, some mov).

Check those items first.
